The Fade Away

God do I love these girls.

I’ll just let the song do the work for me here, but I should point out that in girl-world, only women are allowed to be critical of other women when it comes to gender issues relating specifically to women. Whether it’s Garfunkle & Oats or Girl Writes What? only women are permitted to analyze and criticize the behaviors of the sisterhood.

Imagine the girl-world social repercussions of a man writing and singing this song from the male perspective.

We’ve been on a bunch of dates
I weigh debates that this creates
And hate that state of forced introspection
We traded wit, we swapped some spit,
You fingered me a little bit
But we never really had a connection

You did nothing wrong, I have no excuse
Just my intuition telling me we shouldn’t reproduce

I know I have to end it
But pretend to just suspend it
By contending that I’m busy all week
I let the foregone linger on
Text back with an emoticon
Withdraw from you by being oblique

Inside I know my tactics just delay it
But I’d do anything so I don’t have to say it

I’ll draw this out forever like it’s Vietnam
Then one day I’ll be gone like Bambi’s mom Awww

Cause there’s the right thing to do
Then there’s what I’m gonna do
There’s so much I should say
But instead… I do the fade away

Now I’m fading like chalk on a sidewalk
Or the polio virus after Jonas Salk
Like a Jewish guy at Arby’s on Yom Kippur
The Whig party post Millard Fillmore

The erection of a man on antidepressants
The cast of Diff’rent Strokes after adolescence
Reproductive rights below the Mason Dixon
Native Americans after the barter systems
Your thyroid gland after Hashimoto
The family in the Back to the Future photo
Yeah I fade away

We say that men are asshole who don’t communicate
We revel in our victimhood and amplify our hate
We find ways to be indignant like it’s a sport
Then dissect their malignance with the views we distort

The way men break up may be sloppy and terse
What they do is bad, but what we do is worse

We pretend to ourselves it’s the nice thing to do
To let you down gently by just not fucking telling you
And deep down we know it’s the worst way to play it
But we are what we have… huge pussies

And women are hypocrites
Especially ones in comedy bands
We see your faults but not our own
Then we wonder why we’re all alone

We fill you up with maybe’s, excuses and stalls
But like a baby in China… it’s better to have balls

Not the Good Wife type like Christine Baranski
So I’ll pull out and leave like I’m Roman Polanski

Cause there’s the right thing to do
Then there’s what I’m gonna do
There’s so much I should say
But instead… I do the fade away

Like Verbal Kint fading into Kaiser Soze
The rights in Arizona for a guy named Jose
Opportunities for a college grad
The love between your mom and dad
Gonna Peter out like a gay Cetera
Iranian relations since the Regan era
Black Nike sales after Heaven’s Gate
Summer Camp attendance at Penn State
The name Adolph after World War Two
Like Debbie Gibson’s pop career, Out of the Blue
Yeah I fade away

Cause I don’t wanna get to know you
I just want to blow you… off

Hilarious. I’m impressed to see this coming from women themselves.

Great stuff on the whole, and these girls are funny. I hope they keep doing more. But you can’t help but notice, when reading the lyrics, that they are dripping with the same old feminist and leftist undertones. The same old anti-white-man sentiment, just cloaked in self-effacing snark. With the sorry state of affairs, I guess that’s the best we can hope for coming from women – a dash of awareness in their sea of blue pill mythos.

Very amusing. I will probably link this. Were these the real lyrics or edited to be amusing? I never get to watch embedded videos.

In an interview with Charlie Rose, Stephen Colbert said this about comedians, “I know something about the politics of comedians, they’re iconoclast and anti-status quo”

So its not too surprising that these two have fairly left-wing views. In any case, I think you’re taking it too seriously, and being indignant like its a sport lol.

“…the politics of comedians…” …and actors, and writers, and producers, and singers, and spokesmodels, and news anchors, and…anyone else that the kosher machine allows us to see, right? Hmm, why do you think it is that every single “artist” that is promoted with money behind them is a cultural marxist? hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Bogart, you’re missing their snark. They’re not actually serious about much of anything. They’re not making political commentary about how it’s better to have balls in China or whatever, they’re making silly random statements. Cut these girls some slack. They’re funny and scathingly accurate.

yeah @bogart, I thought your first post was an ironic slab of monologue. Disappointing that you typed the whole thing out without a hint of irony. Sometimes, (just sometimes) song writers throw any vaguely relevant line in a song as long as it rhymes. At the risk of sounding like I’m white-knighting Garfunkle and Oats, I doubt they’d go to the lengths of writing a cutting song about female dating morals while folding in subversive left wing feminist points in the same song. I think [guess/assume] they’d just write two songs about each subject separately (it’s not like YouTube is… Read more »

Bogart, You are 100% right. This video is loaded with Leftist sentiments. These comedians are left-liberal women who are making some fun of feminism. Leftists do this sometimes. But they will NEVER reject leftism in its entirety. Lastly, you will find that most Manosphere people DO NOT UNDERSTAND the role of the Left in creating today’s warped sexual market. Even Rollo doesn’t. Christianity isn’t the dominant religion in America. EGALITARIANISM is and the Left has made it a secular civic religion THAT NO ONE CAN CHALLENGE. That means that black dysfunction, feminism, the slut culture, the welfare state, open immigration,… Read more »

@all political guys
“But like a baby in China… it’s better to have balls”
They are referring to the traditional preference for male child at birth in places like china. The parents procreate until they get a boy and if after a couple of kids if they dont get a boy any/all of the following may happen:
1)the girl child may be killed
2)The mother may be banished.
Because complex traditions concerning dowry ,honor and shit.
Again these are extreme circumstances. This shit doesn’t happen anymore.

Dr. Illusion, Excellent blog post. I agree entirely and wish there would be a MASSIVE uprising of similarly minded white males. But all of what you write is due to 1) Post Modern philosophy and 2) the Progressive/Marxist/Leftist political/cultural movement which has infected most of the Conservative movement and the “right”. It is the Left that has brought this upon us. And it is the Left that needs to be destroyed to save the West. I fear that won’t happen until after the fall. I almost wish for the fall and the ensuing chaos to see the reactions from Western… Read more »

The video is funny and it works because it’s true. However, having said that, most women aren’t going to watch this video and stop and think about how they have done “The Fade Away” and stop doing it. It’s comfortably funny. Women are going to watch it with their friends and they will all have a good laugh about how they have done the same thing and stories will be told over wine. Then they will go out and do it again. Some may even have a bit of guilt about it but will still do it again. Most will… Read more »

Possibly one of the worst things that could happen to most of the readers of this blog would be to go to the Porsche dealer to try to lease a 911 Carrera Turbo Cabriolet and actually get approved for the lease. Then you would have this $1400 a month payment coupled with $500 a month for insurance and then also these quarterly visits to the Porsche dealer for inspections, check-ups to keep the warranty intact, each visit hitting you up for another $500 or more. So you would have this “thing”. It is beautiful. You are proud of it. Every… Read more »

“I have never regreted prematurely ending a relationship based on a gut feeling. I have regreted sticking around for Shit City.” I’d advise guys who end up in relationships immediately out of college to pay close attention to this. And I say this to this demographic specifically because i’ve seen the following scenario play out in my own life and my friends lives specifically: I had a good time in college, stroked some broads, had fun. Started working, met a girl. She was fresh out of college too and came on fast with the sex then wanted a relationship. There… Read more »

Also with regard to girls whom are immediately out of college themselves, here’s my warning: Even the former college skanks will all immediately try to get into a relationship around that time. But before you know it, if you try to be that guy and overlook their red flags, they’ll be back to skanking it up in no time. I think Fly Fresh and Young said it best: You’ll just be the pivot guy from Girls Gone Wild (college) to Sex and the City (yuppie)

This is a very helpful video. I was getting hung up on a girl who was being aloof, then I watched this and remembered that girls don’t flake on guys that they like. Furthermore, almost no girl has the balls to let you down firmly unless you’ve done something really bad.

The key lyric here is “You did nothing wrong. I have no excuse.” We can’t expect women to follow the rules that betas want them to.

I would say that even sex does not mean much these days.

For the modern woman, sex is like shaking hands. Don’t take it to mean much. Be ready for the fade anytime, even in marriage. Be the first to say goodbye. Never chase.

Bogart must have missed Arizona’s “Papers Please” law when he claims that Jose has the same rights as Kevin in Arizona. The comment about China was highly critical of China…you right wing statists sure are sensitive. Reproductive rights – indeed, most southern states believe that this should be determined by government, not by individuals, with prison as the penalty for failure to abide. If the right wing actually believed in freedom, they could get back its political power. But they’re statists, just like the left; and are welfare queens, but of the corporate welfare/government contract variety.
